[Power Sliders! Session 18!] [Last time on Power Sliders you all had convinced the orcs that there was an evil undead army attacking from the north! They believed you yay! However, once they, and you, marched north it was discovered that a village has been attacked and burned to the ground by Humans! Oh no! Now you're in a tight spot.] [All of the orcs are turning to you and attempting to restrain you yet again. Better think of something quick!] [Begin.] Aaah, guys? Heyheyheywhoawhoawhoa! That makes no sense! If we were with whoever attacked here, why would we bring you here? You wouldn't have even known about it without us! If we were supposed to be a diversion instead of being really lost, we would have tried to keep you home, or at least send you somewhere else. We already told you what we knew. We didn't know about this. <@Dreol> [Gralk looks at you inquisitively and then grunts. "Well, we will see. You will help us hunt down these humans. If what you say is true, then you will have no problem killing them."] Yeah! Relax and let's go figure who did this so we can stomp them together! Green and fleshy, working in harmony! Of course not. * Micah is still booking it towards the burning, smoldering city. This is a dumb idea, but orcs with sharp pointy things are dumber and more painful. <@Dreol> [A couple orcs out of range of the conversation are still chasing Micah with weapons drawn. The city, by the way, is a towering inferno. It would be difficult to get very far in it without being burned, or passing out for smoke inhalation.] We better catch up to Micah before someone does something pointy to him. * Lex cups her hands around her mouth and yells as loud as she can after Micah, "Micah! Stop running and get back here!" I like the not getting stabbed idea. * Micah looks back over his shoulder and slowly starts to slow up, frowning as he looks back at the city. <@Dreol> [Gralk, and most of the orcs begin heading towards the village where Micah was running, a couple of orcs stay behind and begin to mend the wounded soldier. Gralk begins to yell. "It's okay! They are going to come with us and fight. Do not kill that one yet!"] <@Dreol> [The two orcs chasing Micah stop and begin to head back towards the group. Meanwhile, Gralk turns to Lex. "Do you know who did this?"] * Lex looks up at Gralk, trying to seem calm and forthright. "I'm not sure. That wounded soldier, did he say it was a band of humans or a single warrior that attacked the city?" * Micah has stopped and is just staring at the village and sighs turning around putting his hands up and starts to walk back to the group. <@Dreol> [Gralk looks back to the soldier. "He said that it was an army of humans led by a fierce fighter who had great power."] What kind of power? <@Dreol> [Gralk shakes his head. "He didn't say. Power enough to destroy the village. I've never seen an attack like this."] * Henry nods. "So... if we stop him, the rest of the humans should stop attacking you, right?" * Lex frowns. "Without their leader and so much power to attack on their side, almost certainly." The question is where he came from and how he got them to attack in the first place. I would have thought you would have known of someone with such powers, and how could a stranger convince humans to start another costly war with the orcs? * Micah shows up around this time. "They got green skin. They are like niggers, only worse." * Cassiopeia slugs Micah hard in the shoulder. * Henry gives Micah an incredulous look. * Lex shakes her head. "I don't think only bigotry would have been enough. If it had been, there would have been conflict before now." OW! Hey FUCK! What was that for. You wanted to know I gave you damn good answer. * Cassiopeia gives Micah a look. "Got no patience for lazy insults like that." <@Dreol> [Gralk nods at Lex, and ignores Micah since he doesn't understand what he said. "He must have come from a far off land. We will begin to march west since that is the direction they were headed."] * Henry nods. "Uh, is there anything important that he might be headed towards?" * Katsuo thinks. "Artifact of great power?" <@Dreol> [Gralk shakes his head. "The capital is to the west. I believe he's headed there."] * Micah glares a bit at Cass and turns to Lex. "Really? Some dude with lots of power shows up and says all the shit in your life isn't your fault it's some green fucker that looks odd? And you all will cleanse the heathen bitches? Fag, Niggers, Japs, Jews, Cholos. Want me to go on?" Dude! Stop. * Katsuo clears his throat and glares the old-man-glare at Micah. * Lex gives Micah a cool look. "It could happen, but not this quickly. I'm worried he might have some way to bend people's minds, which is something we should know when we try to stop him." <@Dreol> [Gralk gives the signal and all the orcs begin to march along with him. He turns to Lex as he walks. "Do you know this great warrior?"] Shit folks, when some one gives you the power to smash that ginger kid that looks odd most get behind him. What do we care about the why people are following him? It's pretty simple...oh...mind control. You no like being controlled, do you? * Henry walks along with the army. * Micah shrugs following. "Not really. It just seems creepy. Anyways people are shit. Don't you guys play out there on the internet? Don't you listen to folks? We're all big steaming piles of shit and you all are trying to look for the high and mighty and golden road." He shrugs a bit more. "Though some shit is skankier then other." * Lex walks alongside Gralk, and her jaw tightens. "Maybe. But if we've met him before, we know little more than you do about him - he is powerful and evil. We want him dead every bit as much as you do. And that's all." Assuming he who we think he is. And he probably be. <@Dreol> [Gralk nods and continues to march. You all march until nightfall at which point Gralk calls for the orcs to set up camp and they do. Your camp is placed on a mountain cliff which overlooks the capital. In the valley below you can see several tiny campfires but it is unclear whether they are human or orc camps.] * Micah will find a nice quiet spot on the outskirts of the camp and sit there watching the camp itself. No sense in worrying about the other camps, yet. So, uh, people who know this kinda stuff, are there more of them or us? <@Dreol> [The capital city looks like a large fortress constructed of wood and stone. Towering in the center is a violent, spiky spire.] Depends on how many there are around each of those campfires. Gralk might know. <@Dreol> [Gralk is currently talking to several lieutenants who move away from him as he finishes instructing them, and they all go to a different group of soldiers to relay the instructions.] But raising an army takes time, and from all we know, this one didn't have much. But then, neither did we. I'm going to go talk to Gralk. If he's willing. Okay, good luck. <@Dreol> [Gralk himself has sat down by the fire on a fallen log.] Don't make any Kermit jokes. * Lex snorts at Cass. "He wouldn't get them if I did." * Lex walks over to stand a respectful distance from Gralk and waits for a sign to speak or withdraw. <@Dreol> [Gralk looks up, nods, and moves over on the log.] * Lex sits. "Is there a way to warn the city?" * Henry walks to the edge of the camp to look over the other camps and the distant city. * Cassiopeia looks at the others. "So anyone have any doubt that we're dealing with you-know-who?" <@Dreol> [He shakes his head. "Men are tired, It's too hard to march now."] I dunno, is there anybody in the game world that could do this? No messenger birds or anything of the sort, then. How soon will they reach it, do you think? <@Dreol> [Gralk shrugs. "We will try and leave early. If we are lucky the humans will spot us first and decide to fight us instead."] It's probably he who must not be named and Henry here is the boy who lived. And if they don't? * Cassiopeia reaches over and pushes the hair away from Henry's forehead. "Can't be, no scar." * Henry blinks. "Ah, yeah. I'd probably fall of the broomstick anyway." <@Dreol> [Gralk shrugs. "Then we attack them from behind and try and save as many people as we can."] I like that plan. If that happens, may my comrades and I go after the leader? If he has a purpose, it needs to be thwarted. <@Dreol> [Gralk nods. "You may do what you like to help out."] * Lex nods. "Thank you. I'll go and tell them." <@Dreol> [Gralk nods and heads into his tent.] * Lex gets up to leave, then remembers something and turns back to Gralk. "What are our numbers compared to theirs?" <@Dreol> [Gralk, who has one hand on his tent flap turns around. "We do not know exact numbers. We have more of the continent than they do, but their cities are more densely populated. I would say we outnumber them. But as far as our army against what is in that valley... I believe we are at a supreme disadvantage."] * Lex mutters half to herself, "I wish there were a way and time to change that..." <@Dreol> [Session End]
