01<@Ardweden> [Day: Thursday, September 2. The last bell of school is ringing!] 01<@Ardweden> [It's the day after the food fight. Tiffany didn't show up for lunch today, and Tyler has had the sense to avoid Hank since the incident as well. Let's see if he continues to succeed. We open at ze lockers.] 01<@Ardweden> [Session Start.] 06* @Tyler is down at his locker away from every one else, just kind of staring into it blankly. 06* Javy heads down the hallway past Tyler towards his own locker, backpack slung low over his back. 06* @Tyler doesn't even glance at Javy. 06* Javy glances at him briefly, but doesn't stop to talk or anything. The lockers await! 06* Javy gets to his locker, and opens it up, starting to exchange books and get his case out. 06* @Tyler slowly starts to get his stuff in order, shaking his head. 06* Tiffany isn't there at the lockers either, mind you. 06* Javy glances back at Tyler again as he finishes exchanging things. Any of his friends around? 06* @Tyler is alone right now, though he does glance around nervously. 06* Javy finishes packing up his bag, picks up his oboe case and an extra bag, and glances towards Tyler once more, before making his way tentatively over. 06* @Tyler was still getting his stuff together not looking up at Javy. 06* Javy closes in more, then, and says softly, "Uh, hey." 06* @Tyler jumps but then looks over at Javy. "What?" He was trying to be tough. 06* Javy shifts his case to his other hand. "Uh, just. I just wanted to, uh. Well. Say hi. Talk. Talk a bit, uh, if you have time." 06* @Tyler glances around and looks back at Javy, shrugging. "Sure. I guess." 06* Hank arrives at his locked, totally not looking nearly as tired as his player feels. 06* Javy nods a little. "So, uh." He pauses, and looks pained. "First, um, you're okay?" <@Tyler> Yeah, of course I am, why wouldn't I be? 06* Hank exchanges books, meets up with his sister and is gone before anyone realizes! 01<@Ardweden> [Hank has turned into a Texas Ninja.] 06* Javy ducks his head. "Well, because, um. You know." He waves one loaded hand towards the cafeteria. "The thing yesterday." <@Tyler> Had worse. I'm perfectly fine. 06* Javy looks at him, unsure, but nods. "Okay. Well, then, you could..." He trails off, and then fixes with, "I just. Well. You sounded like, like you know about art. You know?" <@Tyler> Eh, not really. It's not my thing. 06* Javy looks a little surprised, and then says, "But, um, when, in the. Um. When we were looking at the painting. You... you knew a lot." 06* @Tyler glances around at the crowd and lowers his voice a bit. "Just... things I picked up. It happens. Why?" It's just. Well, Nate and me. We do... 06* Javy trails off a little, and finishes, "... something, like, a bunch of pages." 06* @Tyler sighs. "You want me to go look at something?" 06* Javy straightens. "If you, well. It doesn't have to be right now. But you seemed. It looked like, um. You could help." <@Tyler> I don't have anything to do right now. I guess I could. 06* Javy nods. "You want to. We should, uh. Library?" 06* @Tyler shrugs. "Sure. I guess. Lead on." 06* Javy shifts his case back, and starts heading for the library. 06* @Tyler just follows Javy a few steps behind, eyes darting. Part of him is on the look out for a jock ambush. 06* Javy doesn't fear ambushes at all! He just walks toward the library, slightly nervous. 06* @Tyler will enter after Javy, glancing around, not used to being here after school. 06* Javy looks around with a practiced eye, and makes for an open table, looking around to see if he knows anyone else here. 06* @Tyler will sit next to Javy, not really saying much, feeling very awkward right now. 06* Javy sets his bag and oboe case down, and opens the other one, sitting down gingerly, too. He speaks quietly. "Um, so. So, I mostly, well. I do the, um, the backgrounds." 06* @Tyler looks at Javy, raising an eyebrow. "What do you want me to look for?" 06* Javy takes out a large, plain, black sketchbook. "I don't know. Um, uh, you know about art, so. Maybe you'll have things to. Comments? Something to say." 06* @Tyler looks at the first page of the sketch book. "Look I don't know much..." He looked up at Javy, and fought with himself a bit, before glancing back down at it really looking. "What... are you using this for?" 06* Javy looks confused. "What do you mean?" <@Tyler> Is it being hung in a gallery? In a room? Is it a center piece? is it an auxiliary piece? Is it for a portfolio? Is it to be noticed or to help something else be noticed? What's the purpose? 06* Javy looks surprised, almost shocked, and then leans forward to look at the book, too. "They're just. It's a story. I do. I mean. I make plans for buildings, too. And those, those I could put up. But these are for Nate's story." 06* @Tyler frowns, looking back down at them and then back at Javy, obviously very uncomfortable. "I... look, I don't know THAT much" He looks back down at the paper and sigh. "I'm going to pretend it's Warhol. That's the closest I get to comic stuff? Fuck. I don't even want to admit I know that. Okay?" He shifted a bit more and flipped through the pages very slowly. "Okay, look, your buildings 06* @Tyler are very realistic but your nature is extremely cartoony. It doesn't look like it was done on purpose and the styles don't mesh. The line art is a bit sloppy where the two collide. Most of your pieces put the focus on the upper right and I want to arrange them to show case that natural draw to them." 06* Javy listens, looking at the page, his cheeks slightly colored. "Well, um. I'm good at buildings, but, well. I'm not with, with the trees. Nate does a lot of that." He looks at it thoughtfully. 06* @Tyler nods and looks back at it. "Both of them are too busy, You want a simplistic repeated theme that is recognizable. With this, you're making every building, every tree a focal point." Some of the time, though. Um. Can it work? The buildings? <@Tyler> Sure, but you want to save it for the important ones. How will I know if it's important or not if every one looks so detailed? 06* Javy nods a couple of times, looking surprised still. "Okay. Uh, that makes. Yeah, that makes sense." 06* @Tyler settles back looking a lot more comfortable. "See, here's what I was saying about the focus being in the upper right, this whole drawing just moves up towards it. If you put something on top of it that moves to the lower right it's going to conflict and be unsettling. You might want unsettling, but if you don't want the viewer to be confused where to look...." 06* Javy nods. "I don't think, well." He taps the lower left corner. "I think, um, maybe he'll put a character..." He closes his mouth, and taps the corner again. 06* @Tyler closes the book and hands it back. "But yeah, it's not really my thing." 06* Javy takes it back, and turns it in his hands. "You really, um. You know a lot, right?" <@Tyler> Not really. 06* @Tyler just glances away looking a bit embarrassed. "Just some things. I picked up here and there." 06* Javy looks at him, confused. "You don't sound like that." 06* @Tyler shakes his head lowering his voice. "Look, my mom likes to decorate..." 06* Javy nods uncertainly, and listens. 06* @Tyler shrugs. "You pick things up. Okay?" But you're. Look, you just. You got all that. 06* Javy feels his voice raising. "You know all that." He closes his mouth, and looks around, reddening. 01<@Ardweden> [The librarian glances up, but then she goes back to checking in books.] 06* @Tyler quickly looks around, almost daring any one to come over, keeping quiet. "Yeah, well, you saw me in that art class we all had to take a while ago. I got a D." But you could. Even with that. You could still know, um, know a lot. 06* @Tyler picks up his backpack, staring at the ground for a few seconds before setting it back down. "I guess I know stuff. It doesn't mean anything. Just picked it up." It could mean something! 06* Javy looks down at the sketchbook. "If you wanted." <@Tyler> Like what? You need to draw to do art and I'm not fu.... 06* @Tyler turns away, angry, biting off the rest of that sentence. "Look, it obviously doesn't mean that much." 06* Javy shakes his head, and bites his lip for a second, before saying, "It does. For us, it does. Making stuff better, it means, well..." He trails off. 06* @Tyler shrugs looking down at his book bag. "Look, you can learn this all." But you know it already. 06* @Tyler just stares at his backpack not saying anything. 06* Javy doesn't really know what else to say. He puts the book back in his bag, and sits there, feeling awkward. <@Tyler> It's that important? I know, well. I know some art stuff, but I don't. I don't know enough to fix it. And, well. For Nate, it's, it's important enough. It's what he wants to do. 06* @Tyler just barely nods. "I'll help..." he glanced at Javy, eyes narrowed, contrasting the tiredness of his body language. "Don't you DARE tell my friends." 06* Javy looks surprised again, and excited. "No, I won't. We'll keep it. Um. Keep it a secret." 06* @Tyler sighs and nods relaxing again and looks down at the table. "Okay. I don't really know what to do than be an ass and tell you what's wrong. It's not like I can fix it." We can. Well. That's for us. 06* @Tyler nods and shifts a bit. "So anything else to look at?" We, uh. 06* Javy taps the book. "Not for now. Maybe, uh, we can bring more finished. Like, real pages." 06* @Tyler nods. "Sure. I should be going then." 06* Javy nods, and closes his bag up for real. "Okay. Um. Thanks." 06* @Tyler grabs his bag. "Yeah sure." With that he's fast walking out of there. 01<@Ardweden> [Session End!]
