01<@Ardweden> [Joan steps outside and into the now familiarly twisted version of The Square. It's a nice day! You know, for dreamland. There are a couple of checkered fish swimming through the sky, even.] 06* Joan leans against the side of the building and looks up at them. What color? 01<@Ardweden> [One is black and red, and the other is blue and yellow. The blue and yellow one is bigger, but swimming more slowly.] 06* Joan totally doesn't start monologuing to herself, and instead takes the opportunity to explore a bit, though she stays in sight of the Haven. 01<@Ardweden> (Are you heading any way in particular?) ( Nope! ) 01<@Ardweden> (Okay!) 01<@Ardweden> [Joan starts walking around the Square! Every building she's used to in the waking world is accounted for in the Dream one, though often to an extreme or twisted degree.] 01<@Ardweden> [The diner (that serves the best breakfast in town) is there, but the window is covered with egg yolk, and the door looks suspiciously like a huge slab of bacon. Its roof is tilted to one side, dripping what one hopes is syrup off the side. Joan might want to avoid standing too close to that one.] ( Ewww. ) 06* Joan does avoid it. That place is a cholestoral hazard. 01<@Ardweden> [The syrup drips into tremendously tall grass, which Joan can see makes up the lawn - or lack thereof, because there usually isn't a lawn - leading to where the florist usually is. When she looks past the grass, though, there are the most stunning flowers she has ever seen, some large, some small, all gorgeous and vibrant colors.] 01<@Ardweden> [The building itself looks like it may fall apart at any moment, if it weren't for the plants keeping it up.] 06* Joan marvels at the architecture. 01<@Ardweden> [It really is marvelous, though Joan can't get the greatest of looks with all of the plants in the way.] 06* Joan isn't about to tresspass though. 06* Joan continues onward. No sense in possibly getting eaten by a giant angry plant just for wanting to look at a house. 01<@Ardweden> [Aww, angry plant? But they look so harmless!] 06* Joan knows better in this place >.> 01<@Ardweden> [Joan passes what is/was a thrift store, which looks hardly any different (if one ignores the standard funhouse warping), though the door keeps opening and closing, creating tinkling bells filling the air. If Joan looks into the window, she sees herself wearing a dress with a floral print and a sunhat, along with a pair of sandals.] 06* Joan does look in the store, and cringes. Then inspects further. She is hot! Then realize she's thinking about herself and cringed again. 01<@Ardweden> [The other Joan cringes back, but she does so quite cutely!] 06* Joan moves on. This is freaky. 01<@Ardweden> [Moving around the corner, Joan passes by a real estate office which is made of at least ten different kinds of architecture, all fit together kind of like a mismatched jigsaw puzzle.] 06* Joan peers at it. That looks like a fun place to work. 01<@Ardweden> [Joan sees what could be a piece of her house. It's attached to mosaic, which melds into rough wooden siding and then a steel beam that rises to clay shingles.] ( It's a big house ) 01<@Ardweden> (It is!) 06* Joan considers it a while longer, impressed that such a thing manages to keep from collapsing on itself. It must be a feat architectural engineering. That or this is just a dream and it works just because. Eitherway, she eventually continues onward. 01<@Ardweden> [Joan continues onward, just because, and walks by the bakery, which looks just like it normally does but smells DELICIOUS. Cakes, pies, cookies, bread - pastries of all sorts, filling the air with amazing intensity as soon as Joan passes the invisible line between one building and the next.] 06* Joan is overwhelmed!... and for some reason has a craving for a baguette. 06* Joan looks in through the window. 01<@Ardweden> [That baguette smells good, let me tell you. Warm and crusty good.] 01<@Ardweden> [It's dark, but Joan's glow reveals row after row of shelved and stacked pastries, with what looks like minimal room to maneuver between them. It certainly seems bigger on the inside than the outside!] 06* Joan is tempted, but has no money, and since this is a dream getting food here would be kind of pointless. 01<@Ardweden> [It doesn't look like someone's working there anyway!] 06* Joan is too virtuous to break in and steal food, and so continues on! 01<@Ardweden> [Joan resists the urge, powerful as it may be. Next up is the bar, which looks like it's been on the wrong end of about five too many brawls, as Joan has to step around a puddle of beer, and the window is nothing more than some splinters of glass hanging on to a frame.] 06* Joan peers. Now this looks like a fun place. 01<@Ardweden> [She can hear drunken singing and smell the alcohol, but the window - despite being broken - is still completely dark. Even with her glow.] ( What are they singing? ) 01<@Ardweden> (Sounds like Drunken Sailor - probably!) 01<@Ardweden> (Also, moving to other chan. :)
