01<@Ardweden> [Day: Monday, September 27. Time: 6:00 pm.] 01<@Ardweden> [It's been quite the day, and Tiffany's still sleepy. So naturally, after wandering around the mall with Javy and trying to work through some negative emotions, she goes to the library! What? She doesn't want to go home yet.] 01<@Ardweden> [Heather, meanwhile is s/lurking/working in the stacks... or maybe pretending to work and actually listening to music. Or reading vampire fiction. She can decide. It's just starting to get dark, and there's a cold, drizzling rain outside.] 01<@Ardweden> [Start!] 06* Heather is doing all of the above, so there. 01<@Ardweden> [She's a hard worker, that Heather.] 06* Tiffany is doing all of *her* above too, finding a small, quiet, and above all, relatively unpopulated corner all to herself. She's definitely doing dream work, after all. Books on dream analysis, mythology and the like stacked at her table. 06* Tyler has entered the library, looking for one of the computers to look up books. He still has his backpack on and is just looking around nervously. 01<@Ardweden> [Tyler spots a computer in short order, though the librarian by them gives him a Look as he walks by.] 06* Tyler moves for it quickly. He doesn't want to be here any longer than he has to be. 01<@Ardweden> [Maybe it's the black eye? Or his clothes? Or both?] 01<@Ardweden> [He gets there, no problem! The computer even looks like it works.] 06* Tyler will start searching for "The Cold War" on there. 01<@Ardweden> [He gets many, many hits. At least the call numbers are all very similar.] 06* Tyler groans and starts to dig through his backpack to see if he can find that assignment. 01<@Ardweden> [He finds it. It's crumbled and wet, the words difficult to make out. Is his backpack *really* that shitty?] 06* Heather turns a corner carrying a stack of books and nearly runs into Tiffany. 06* Tyler sighs and writes down the general call numbers and texts Matt and Steve. "What's the history paper supposed to be on?" 01<@Ardweden> [Matt gets back to Tyler first: "Propaganda in cold war"] 06* Tyler heads down to the history section to just browse. He'll find something. As long as the book sounds important and propgandy he won't flunk. 06* Tiffany is engrossed in her book and then there's a table bump and she jumps from it, turning towards the offender, startled. "*Hey!* What's the big..." She squints at Heather. "You??" 06* Heather drops the books she was carrying. "Ah! S-sorry!" she says as she kneels to pick them up. 06* Tyler starts browsing through history. 01<@Ardweden> [Tyler finds a lot of books on the cold war, which is expected since that's what he was looking for. He also hears Tiffany and another voice which is very familiar, toward the wall and behind him.] 06* Tiffany rubs her temples. Building of a headache coming something fierce. "Will you quit saying th--what are you even doing here?" Because, you know, only weirdoes like her go to the library. 06* Tyler frowns and sneaks around to get a peak. 06* Heather picks up her books. "I, um, work here? Why are you here?" 06* Tiffany frowns and picks up one of the books, clutching it close to her chest, stammering. "Um...*nothing*. Ah...it's...just school stuff..." She looks around for anyone else here. 06* Heather peeks at the book's spine. "Dream theory? What class is that for?" 06* Tiffany shrinks at Heather's question, murmuring "Psychology," into the back of it. Hey, their school may even *offer* it. Some high schools do! 06* Tyler isn't hiding much, he's obviously peaking around the corner at the two girls. 06* Heather gives Tiffany a skeptical look. "Ah." 01<@Ardweden> [The school does not offer Psychology. Also, Tiffany spots Tyler.] 06* Tiffany heaves a breath and relaxes, then sets down the book. "Okay...so it's kind of a hobby then...sue me..." She plunks down heavily in the chair and makes eyes at Tyler. 06* Tyler makes eyes back at Tiffany, he knows he's been caught, must be that spiked hair. It's Blue today. 06* Heather glances over that way and spots Tyler as well. She hesitates. "Um... Well, I better get back to work." 06* Tiffany watches Heather for a moment now, then chews on her lip. "...kinda surprised you'd come to *work* after..." She thinks better of it and shakes her head. "Nevermind." Hey, wait, you guys have that history assignment? 06* Tiffany blinks at Tyler now, thoroughly confused. "...history assignment?" Something about props in the cold war or something? 06* Heather shakes her head 06* Tiffany continues to stare blankly at Tyler. "...there's no prop planes in the Cold War." Or maybe there is. It's not that they're important though. 06* Tyler shrugs. "don't know. Gotta write about it." 06* Heather blinks a few times. "Oh. I guess I forgot." Yeah it's 50% of the grade. Gotta just get him something. 06* Tiffany squints as she chews over the question. She kind of forgot too. Ugh. She doesn't want to think about her papers right now. Then she turns her gaze to Tyler. "...since when did *you* start giving a shit about your grade?" 06* Tyler shrugs. "Need a C." 06* Tiffany snorts and crosses her arms as she continues to eye Tyler. "What? Or else your trust fund'll be dried up?" 06* Tyler winces a bit and looks away. "It's not just that." He sighs. "Look, I don't wanna be stuck failing or in summer school any more than you do, but they have placemats with our names on them don't they?" 06* Tiffany rolls her eyes and leans back in her chair, glancing at him. "*Yours* maybe..." She frowns and leans forward at the counter, mumbling. "I *do* my homework...try to at least..." 06* Heather slowly backs away from this conflict. 06* Tyler rolls his eyes. "Not important. I reminded you of this." He paused and looked over at Heather. "I.." He looks back at Tiffany and then at Heather, clearly starting to get an Idea(tm). 06* Tiffany glances to Tyler, then glances at Heather, then back to Tyler, looking confused. "...what?" 06* Tyler shakes his head. "Two things. I was just saying how Christina and Heather should go to the dance together, but really I think we should work together. It should be easier if we do it together." 06* Tiffany slams her hands down and suddenly bolts from her chair, eying Tyler down. "WHAT?! Now wait a minute, Christina's not...well, she's not...*she never really talked to me about it but you so much as THINK of touching her Tyler, so help me...*" Tiffany, this is a library. 06* Heather glances around nervously. "Um, Tiffany? Can you keep it down? I mean, this is a library... I work here...." 06* Tyler looks at Tiffany. He looks crossed between wanting to laugh and wanting to run, but mostly laugh. 06* Tiffany fumes silently, but then gives Heather an apologetic look and flumps down in her chair, arms crossed. She does give Tyler a deathglare for almost laughing though. Jerkwad. 06* Tyler takes a deep breath and looks up. "So, come on Tiffany, let's help each other. You know it will go better if we work together instead of fighting over the books we both need." 06* Tyler smiles a bit. "Anyway, you'll get an A on this easily if you don't have distractions. I just want a C." 06* Tiffany looks down and relaxes a bit, chewing it over. Seems she *is* a fly that can be caught by honey. Even if it's such a vinegary drippy fly catcher like Tyler. She lets out a long sigh. "Fiiiine..." She looks back up at him, sans deathglare. "Why the hell do I keep getting caught bailing you out of stuff lately anyway?" 06* Tyler smiles. "Because we work well together and both know not to expect more." He turns looking at Heather. "You know the library, you should help us. You got work, if you help us get the books we'll make photocopies for you." 06* Heather runs a hand through her hair awkwardly. "Um.... I guess I could..." She still hasn't put those books back yet, even. Hey you're helping customers. 06* Heather nods. Great! This makes it easier for all of us and one of use doesn't have to be a dick and take all the books. 06* Heather rubs the back of her neck. ".... Could have just used the internet..." Gotta cite books, remember? It's a requirement. 01<@Ardweden> [End!]
