[Day: Monday September 20. Time: Sometime around sixth or seventh period.] [Tyler's been talking to Javy about a way to get Tiffany to meet up with him, as he can't go to Tiffany directly. Inbetween classes, Tiffany receives a text from Javy telling her about the plans!] [Mini start!] 06* Javy thumbs in the text, and sends it off! "Hey. Tyler's here, and he wants to meet up with you after school. Before we all meet up. He says it's normal. And he seems desperate." 06* Tiffany sends a text back. It takes a while to respond, and Javy might think she's almost not going to respond to it. When she finally does, all he gets is a brief "...whut?" 06* Tyler watches Javy from a safe distance, he didn't want to read what Tiffany said. He was doing everything he could to keep it seperate. 06* Javy glances at Tyler, and then sends back, "I don't know. He won't say why, just that he wants to talk with you. I think he's being true about it. Is it okay?" 06* Tiffany sends back. "wait tylers desperate. and he wants 2 talk 2 me" 06* Tiffany sends again, after a brief pause. "is he high?" 06* Javy looks at Tyler curiously, and then sends back, "I don't think so. I don't know if I could tell, though. But he seems pretty clear, and he was talking like he usually does." 06* Tyler glances up impatiently. "Does she want a whole novel? It's a simple yes or no..." I, uh... she... she just sounded... surprised. She hasn't said. Um. Yet. 06* Tiffany responds back. "fine. be4 we meet, rite?" 06* Javy reads it, relieved, and responds, "Yeah. So I'll see you after, with the others." 06* Javy glances back up at Tyler again. "She says she... she will. Before she meets with, uh. With the rest of us." Sure. I'll be there a bit earlier waiting. Thanks. 06* Tiffany sends another text. "yeh but y r u sending me this? 06* Javy nods to him. "You're... you're welcome, Tyler. I... yeah. Good." 06* Javy looks back down, and thumbs in, "He doesn't have your number, and I didn't want to give it to him. This's fastest. Oh, and by the way, I'm sticking the flyer in your locker for later." 06* Tiffany pauses for a bit longer with this one. Quite along time compared to her other messages actually. She finally sends back. "thanks" [Tyler was at the appointed place at the appointed time, quite a bit early in fact. He was pacing back and forth waiting, obviously full of nervous energy.] 06* Tiffany shows up, wearing a hoodie, stockings and cutoff jeans. She's biting her lips as she shows up, twisting her lip ring, and her hands are jammed into her hoodie's pockets. "This better be important, Tyler." You're the only one I trust with this right now. That came out wrong. You're the only one that will understand what I'm asking for. 06* Tiffany sighs and looks off to the side. "Great. Now I'm *really* worried." I need to ask a girl to the dance and I need one that will at least say maybe. Some one that won't make me a target. 06* Tiffany starts to respond to that. "I..." She then *stares* at Tyler. And her mouth goes open. Then she shuts it. Kind of like a fish. She stares at him for a bit longer before she deadpans. "What." It's for Steve. He's got a girl he likes but is afraid to ask her out. If I ask some one out he'll ask his girl out. He's made it a requirement I don't just do it to do it so I need some one that will say maybe and some one that I might have fun with that won't make me a target. Look, if I thought it would get steve to ask a girl out I'd ask Hank to the dance. Wh--wait, *Steve*? Like....*Steve* Steve? 06* Tiffany then blinks. "...really? You'd ask Hank out? I thought me talking about you going out with Tony was a joke..." 06* Tyler looks over at Tiffany daring her to say more. "Yeah, STEVE, Steve. What of it?" He was still pacing full of energy. "Look, Steve's....Steve. If that would help I'd do it." 06* Tiffany sighs and rubs the back of her head. "Wait, you're saying you don't know any girls? And you're asking me for help? *Really*??" No. I'm saying I don't know any girls that might say yes. Fuck. That came out wrong too. I don't care. You know the social structure better then I do. At least tell me the land mines to stay away from. 06* Tiffany rolls her eyes. "Fuck, Tyler. You think the *girl's* like me? I mean Christina's really the only girl I hang out with. And I don't think even *you're* stupid enough to ask out Delilah and crew." 06* Tiffany frowns. "Well..and Sydney and Suzanna I guess. But if you asked out Suzanna, half the boys *and* Hank would kill you." 06* Tyler shrugs. "Delilah would just be a bitch for ten minutes. No difference there. The problem is if I get told no, there's no way Steve's going to have the courage." He sighed. "I thought about Suzanna, hell I thought about Sydney and you. You can thank Steve for 'This has to be for real'." 06* Tiffany sighs again. "I can ask Christina if she knows anybody who's desperate enough to say yes. But...I mean...do you really *want* that, Tyler?" 06* Tiffany conveniently ignores the place where he says "I thought about Sydney and you" 06* Tyler shrugs. "It's one night to help Steve. I've faked worse and more painful for my family." 06* Tiffany looks up for a moment at the family comment and sounds suspicious. "What's that supposed to mean?" You don't know? I'm an heir. I get to go to all sorts of fun little dinners and parties and weekend get always and be shown off as the third son. The one that isn't expected to succeed at anything. One dance with a girl that doesn't like me? Piece of cake. 06* Tyler sounds even more bitter and sarcastic than normal there. 06* Tiffany sighs and brushes her hair off to the side under her hood. "Believe it or not, Tyler, I don't keep a running record of your life. I've kind of had my *own* shit to deal with for the last year. Not that you helped any." But yeah, that kind of sucks. Who's Steve even interested in anyways? 06* Tyler shrugs. "Some gamer girl he met. Don't know. It's Steve, I bet they touched hands trying to get Mario Party or something like that." 06* Tiffany rubs her chin. "Huh. Well, I guess it takes all types then." She sighs. "Look, I'll try not to make it too terrible. I'm sure she knows some drama club people who'd be interested. But I don't think even you deserve someone totally terrible." 06* Tiffany suddenly frowns. "Why don't I like the idea of you owing me, Tyler?" 06* Tyler shrugs. "I'll pay you back. What ever. Get a date yourself and I'll pay for dinner for you two. Not a big deal. I'm only doing this to help Steve." 06* Tiffany sighs and shakes her head, holding the side of it. "You just don't get it, do you? I don't want your money." 06* Tiffany rubs the side of her head. "You being nice to me is so fucked up." 06* Tyler shrugs more. "If you really want to trade in favors, sure. I'll just owe you. Look, I'm good at keeping my end of deals. So I'll just owe you one of simil...." He cuts off and looks at her sighing. "You know why I'm being nice. You also know why I came to you. Look, we have to work together. It's best if I don't piss you off constantly. You're right on that. Just.. don't make me regret it." 06* Tiffany shakes her head. "Look. I know Tyler." She turns to look at him. "Don't make *me* regret it." Fine, I promise one night I'll be the perfect little gentleman I've been trained to be. The girl will be treated like a princess. That should help you feel better. 06* Tiffany sighs. "I don't care, Tyler. Actually, no. I do. You fake it like that, there's going to be a shitstorm." 06* Tyler looks at Tiffany, his face completely blank, he blinks a few times, suddenly very confused. "Wha?" 06* Tiffany steps forward and pokes at him. "Look, Steve wants it to be genuine. Be genuine. If it doesn't work out, I don't want you completely faking it with a girl and then pissing her off when you blow it off. *Nobody* deserves that." I mean....god, Tyler. Why is it so hard for you to try to treat other people like human beings without acting like you're faking all the time? 06* Tyler blinks a bit more. It takes him a few moments to process what she said. "Every one's fake Tiff-Tiff." He's quieter now though. "I won't fake it then." 06* Tiffany frowns and folds her arms. "I'm not fake. And everyone hates me for it." 06* Tyler looks Tiffany in the eyes. He's about to say something and then closes his mouth. He silently counts to ten. "Riiiiiight." 06* Tiffany stares him in the eyes. "Got something to say?" 06* Tyler looks Tiffany right back in the eyes. "Don't give me openings like that." He takes a deep breath. "Look. I'm trying to be nice, but don't go calling chicken on my niceness." 06* Tiffany rolls her eyes. "Right. Whatever." She sighs and closes her eyes. "Fine. At least try to be nice with her. Try to have fun. But don't outright fake it. That's not fair." Deal. 06* Tiffany opens her eyes again. "Why does Steve asking a girl out mean so much to you anyways?" He's Steve. Is he ever going to ask a girl out? No. But why do you *care*? We're buds and contrary to what you might think I don't keep him around just to torment him. I mean him....Tony. I guess...I just never thought you actually cared about anybody but yourself. 06* Tiffany doesn't look apologetic in the least for making that statement. 06* Tyler shrugs, not looking hurt at all. "Let's go with we don't know each other." 06* Tiffany folds her arms again, frowning. "It's not like you make it easy..." Maybe we should go walking in *your* head one of these nights. 06* Tyler glares at Tiffany. "NO. Don't you dare. The only time I'm going into some ones head is when they need to be rescued. I expect the same." 06* Tiffany snorts, arms still crossed. "*Relax*, Tyler. It was a joke. Besides, I doubt we'd *want* to see what the hell goes on in side of there..." She frowns. "Just like me, really." 06* Tyler nods. "Exactly. I'm staying out of your head you stay out of mine." 06* Tiffany gestures to the library. "You heading inside?" 06* Tyler shrugs. "Sure." Best behavior. Remember. Otherwise there's not gonna be any convincing the others to keep you on. Hey, I'm being good. Geeze. 06* Tiffany looks at him for a moment, then heads inside.
