[Date and Time: Immediately after the library on Monday, September 20.] [After everyone went their own seperate ways, Javy needed to walk to swim practice! And he invited Tiffany to come with! Aww, how sweet! Anyhow, they're just coming down to the steps of the library now!] [Mini session start.] 06* Javy is hefting all the bags again now, but he still keeps up a pretty good pace down the steps! 06* Tiffany 's just carrying her one backpack, arms folded in front of her. Her hoodie in her arms, folded over and dangling over her arms. "You carry a lot." 06* Javy glances over at her. "Just... only for, um. Like today. There's swim, and then... and then class. And then the shop. And then... then home." 06* Tiffany shifts the weight of her hoodie. "That's still a lot though." She reaches up to brush her hair. "You...uh...you like to be involved in a lot, don't you?" Um. Some of it. I mean... 06* Javy straightens, and hoists the swim bag higher. "I... doing things is good. But... I, swim, that... well, I like it. Now, I do. But when I started... it was... I don't know. My parents wanted it, and... just a sport. And it seemed like the best." 06* Tiffany blinks. "Why?" Why... why swimming? It's... I don't know. It's peaceful. Um. In... when you're in the water, and just... you can move. Like that. Uh...well, no, not exactly that... 06* Tiffany shifts her feet a little as she walks, looking a bit uncomfortable. "I mean...uh...if you don't like doing it, shouldn't you tell your parents? I mean you like swimming but..." 06* Javy walks more. "I... well. They, like, uh, like I said, they... they wanted me to do, um. A sport, too. So they let me, uh... the other stuff I do, it's... it's a trade. And I kinda like it more. When... when I started, it was... but now, it's good." 06* Tiffany frowns a little. "But you said you don't like it..." I... no, I mean, I didn't. At the start. But... now, I... it feels good. To move. When I'm in the water. 06* Tiffany nods a little at that. "So...uh...you wanted to do oboe first...then your parents convinced you to get into swimming..." 06* Javy nods, then hesitates, and says, "Yeah. Um. More or less." 06* Tiffany nods a little. "Um...how long have you been doing it for?" Swimming? Or oboe? Well, uh, both. I guess... 06* Javy thinks. "Oboe is... um. For... like a few years. I was... uh..." He thinks some more. "In third grade? And then... swimming... since sixth grade? But the team was, uh... well. I did races earlier, but, then... since high school. Um. You know, like... freshman year." 06* Tiffany blinks. "So...for quite a while then." She tilts her head and looks at him. "No wonder you've got the swimmer's build..." 06* Javy blushes, and looks forward. "I, uh... uh... choir? You... how long?" 06* Tiffany looks up for a moment. "Choir? Oh...for a couple of years I think. I've always liked to sing though..." She smiles slightly at Javy. "It took my mind off stuff..." So... you used to... uh. On your own? Um. Sing? 06* Javy slows down some in his walking, too. 06* Tiffany nods a little. "At church, when I used to go. Um...well, I mostly would do it to pass the time. Sing along to the radio and stuff...sing while dancing...that sorta thing..." She only looks a touch embarrassed, she's not blushing furiously like Javy is/was. 06* Javy nods, and glances over at her. "That's... it's... that's cool." He hesitates, and then mumbles a bit, shifting his bag against his side. 06* Tiffany sighs and shifts her hand through her hair. "Not so cool. I couldn't really dance much...and I started singing when there wasn't much else to do..." She shakes her head. "It wasn't so bad though..." 06* Javy sneaks a couple of quick glances at her, and feels his face reddening again. "Yeah. Um... but I bet... it's..." He mumbles for a bit, and comes back with, "... like it? That... the dancing? Still?" 06* Tiffany looks at Javy for a moment then snickers. "Well, it depends..." She takes her hoodie and stretches it out like a dance partner and she starts to twirl with it. "I mean...I gotta keep it up for, like, the drama stuff...but I still like to do it." She stops for a second, one of the sleeves stretched out as she glances at Javy. "You?" 06* Javy slows down more, and then watches her for a couple of beats, quiet, still feeling the stupid blush all over his cheeks. "I... uh... not, uh... I don't do it. Much." 06* Tiffany smiles at him, either not noticing the blush or trying not to let it affect her, it's hard to tell. "You should. It's a lot of fun if you get into it." She frowns a little. "I couldn't because I used to fall a lot..." 06* Javy looks dubious. "Really?" 06* Tiffany stops for a moment and frowns some more. "I, uh..." 06* Javy shifts his bag. "I... it's hard to... I can't really see it. From, uh. From that. It's... you..." He mumbles a bit more. 06* Tiffany frowns again, then lets out a long, deep sigh. "I used to have seizures when I was younger, Javy..." She's walking a lot slower now. 06* Javy just stops, and looks at her. "I... oh. I... sorry, I... didn't know. You... but now, it's gone?" 06* Tiffany stops too. She's half looking away but she's not totally avoiding his gaze. "Well...they never really "go away." I still have to have checkups and everything..." She tugs on her sleeves gently. I....sometimes walking is hard. Real hard. The colors are too bright...too vibrant...too fast...over There, I mean. If it were any bit of real, I'd probably pass out but... 06* Javy nods, and just watches her for a couple of beats, before looking half away. "It's... yeah, since... it's a dream. It's just... it's different. All over there. We're different." He looks back at her. "I... but you still dance. Here." 06* Tiffany chuckles and brushes her hair aside, looking away from him. "And climb." She turns back and grins at Javy. "There's probably a lot of things I do over here that you don't know about." 06* Javy nods a couple of times, and swallows. "Probably. Like... yeah. I... Tiffany. Um... I... just, I... I want to know more." Another beat, and then, "Like. You, ah... yeah. Climb? Like... trees?" He bites the inside of his cheek. 06* Tiffany smiles at Javy for a moment and tries not to call attention to his hesitation. "Trees, yeah...though I've climbed fences before. I like trees the best though..." 06* Javy nods. "I... it... I never did that. Much. Just... more flowers than trees. For me." 06* Tiffany snickers a little, but she's kind enough to cover her mouth before it gets too overly rude. "Well, yeah, you definitely can't climb flowers. Unless you're, like, an ant." 06* Javy nods, and half gestures with the bag. "Yeah, I... yeah. Just... the shop. I spent. Um." He suddenly stops, and asks, "You, uh. You know we... we have the shop. Right?" 06* Tiffany blinks and looks at Javy for a moment. "Shop?" She shakes her head a bit. "I don't think you ever talked about a shop..." Pure Field Flowers? That's... my dad runs it. 06* Tiffany nods slightly. "Flower shop?" 06* Javy nods. "And... my mom, she... I mean, she does, she takes care of me, um, but she. She works, too. So... um. I... at the shop. With my dad, after school. Um. And Tomoko, too. A lot." 06* Tiffany nods. "Your sister right? She seemed pretty nice." 06* Javy nods, and smiles a little. "Yeah. She... she's great." 06* Tiffany watches Javy's reaction, tilting her head. "You've always been pretty close then?" 06* Javy nods, relaxing a little. "I... yeah. She... I'm way younger, but... we always. She treats me like... like, like someone real. A real person. Ever since I was... when I was a kid." 06* Tiffany frowns a little at that. "But...you *are* someone real, Javy. I mean someone real special...I mean who wouldn't want to..." She blushes a little as she realizes what she's saying and suddenly quiets. 06* Javy blushes more again, and then mumbles something softly, looking mostly at her feet. Then he looks up a bit more, and gets something a bit more coherent, ending with, "... with me?" 06* Tiffany blinks and stops again fully, looking at Javy. She doesn't answer, she seems to be waiting for him to repeat the question. 06* Javy swallows, and straightens, shifting his backpack on his back. He looks past her shoulder, starts to say something, and then closes his eyes, and tries one more time. "The... the dance, I... you like to, and..." He swallows hard, and says, "Will you go with me?" 06* Tiffany stares at him for a moment, trying to process what he just said, and the effort he's taking to ask. She pauses for a bit and then finally responds with a very soft. "What...uh...the homecoming dance?" 06* Javy opens his eyes some, almost wincing, and says, "Uh... yeah? There's... is there another...?" 06* Tiffany looks embarrassed for a moment and stutters. "I, uh...no. Uh...." She blushes, really hard and looks away for a moment. "Javy, I..." She shifts her feet for a moment. 06* Javy takes a step closer to her. "I... you... so... you don't?" 06* Tiffany suddenly throws her arms around his neck and kisses his cheek, there's tears in her eyes. "I...of course I...no, I want to go..." She sniffles a bit and wipes her eyes, stepping away. "Sorry, I..." 06* Javy tenses in surprise at the suddenness, but can't help but grin after she lets go. "I, it's... it's... it's great, I. Great. No, uh, don't be sorry, I... yeah." 06* Tiffany chuckles slightly and then notices she dropped her hoodie when she hugged him so goes to pick it up, arms behind her back as she looks away from him. "But...ah...I thought you said you don't dance..." 06* Javy is all full of blushing and grinning. "I... I can try. I mean. I probably won't be, ah... like. A master, but. I can... I just don't... I haven't practiced." I...uh...are you sure then? I mean...uh...I wouldn't want you to embarrass yourself.... 06* Javy nods. "I... I'm not... I wouldn't ask if, if I wasn't. I'm not, um... like that." I didn't...that's not...uh, not what I meant. 06* Tiffany shuffles her feet a bit and looks down at them. I'll... look, if... as long as we're. 06* Javy stops, and tries, "If we're going, then... then it'll be good." 06* Tiffany tilts her head slightly and gives him a shy smile. "As long as you're going with me, is that right?" 06* Javy blushes some more again, but he nods, rather shy now that she's putting it that way. 06* Tiffany smiles, a little more this time, with a little more confidence. "And that's why I said yes." 06* Javy looks so pleased. "Yeah. I... yeah. I'm so... thanks. We'll... we'll talk about it more. Um. After practice? Or, um. Or later. There's..." He laughs sharply. "There's... ah, there's later." 06* Tiffany sighs, mood suddenly taking a big dip as she remembers the conversation at the library from earlier. "We're going to be busy later...." She glances aside for a moment and holds her arm, then looking down. 06* Javy nods, calming down some himself. "I meant more... like... later later. Generally. Just... yeah. But there's practice now. I..." He looks off. "Sorry, I... I'm... I have to change still, too." 06* Tiffany nods, then sighs. "Sorry we're going to have to go out Walking on such a busy day for you...it's going to be rough not getting enough sleep..." 06* Javy starts walking again. "It's... Syd's important, too. I... it's one night. I can, ah... I'll be okay." 06* Tiffany nods. "Maybe." She frowns. "It might be better if we pace ourselves...although I'm not sure how Sydney would take that..." We should just... tonight is... it's not all one. Uh. One time. We can go more... just. We should find out. 06* Tiffany nods. 06* Javy speeds up some. "Sorry, uh, Tiffany, just... I'm gonna be late. I'll... later?" 06* Tiffany nods slightly. "Yeah." She waves at Javy. "Have a good practice!" 06* Javy nods and waves back with his oboe case hand, and then speeds off towards the locker rooms! 06* Tiffany watches him for a moment, then decides not quite to stick around. She walks home slowly, glancing back a couple of times before she goes to go home for real. [Mini session end!]
