[Grysar] (Encrypted) Date: May 5th, Evening From: Haruko Kinsha To: Kaede Takeuchi, Katie Andrews, Kyon Sorata Subject: Re: Candidates for Council Sorry for the late response. This is the first I'm hearing of it, to my chagrin. I haven't been keeping up with Matthias as reliably as I should, in part because I thought I'd be able to make the pitch for Katie and Kyon best in person. He's already RSVPed for the house party, so I'll see him soon. Others may be able to catch him as well, but he's unsurprisingly busy at Keio though, so I don't expect he'll stick around that long. Not that surprised he's running. He has a lower profile than our group, but also fewer enemies, Jackals excepted. If he is running, I'd probably vote without hesitation, assuming Akemi's not running. That said, I may wait to tell him that until after I've made my pitch for our slate. Haruko ***** [Kyon, how closely have you been keeping up with Matthias? Haruko's told you she's had at least one meeting and that Matthias is a likely attendee at her housewarming party. However, perhaps you've taken steps behind that, or perhaps not given your schedule.] --- [Capfox] (My feeling is that now that Arcana stuff seems to on the rise again, he'd at least be checking in with Matthias every few weeks or so, just a quick email exchange to keep them more or less on the same page?) --- [Grysar] [Matthias and Kyon had previously briefly discussed the Council in terms of Kyon making his decision to run, but Matthias himself hadn't given any indication one way or another on his interest.] [Then a day or two ago Matthias gave Kyon notice that he was running, in line with their usual email exchange schedule. He said he was disturbed by the way that the Council had been put together with ad-hoc and exclusionary rules that were likely in pursuit of some hidden agenda. He's not expecting to change immediately, but believes that if he is able to join now, he could set a representative and impartial example. In the longer term, there may be time to talk about reforms, but that's getting ahead of ourselves at the moment. He's also heard that Yusuke is considering running a campaign making up for lack of any notable virtues by translating his celebrity, such as it is, into a position as a trusted unifier.]
