<@Ardweden> [Saturday, June 5.] <@Ardweden> [Haruko met up with Satoshi at Waseda's ice rink and showed off some of her new figure skating moves. Satoshi also tried some figure skating! Which didn't go quite as well due to the hockey gear he was wearing. Whoops.] <@Ardweden> [They probably goof around on the ice for a while after, but eventually somebody gets hungry or thirsty or tired or bored - look the point is, they want to sit down and chat, and it's about right for an early lunch, so they head for a cafe juuuuust off of campus - a counter service place that obviously serves college crowds and has a decent tea and coffee selection, along with a variety of simple things for lunch.] <@Ardweden> [There's a short line upon getting there but plenty of seating; most students are grabbing and going, off to meet up with friends or eat somewhere else. Which is fair. Satoshi might be on summer vacation, but nobody who goes to Waseda is.] <@Ardweden> [Start!] * @Haruko eyes the menu orders a rice ball and check with Satoshi if he wants to split a half dozen gyoza. After a quick glance in her wallet, she decides on the house green tea to drink. * @Satoshi agrees for the gyoza split, and also gets the house green tea and a bento with cold grilled salmon, rice, and assorted vegetables. And a muffin. He likes muffins. * Haruko scouts for a seat and finds one in a slightly awkward corner where there's nobody in easy earshot. <@Ardweden> [No cafe is complete without a slightly awkward corner!] * @Satoshi figures he can squeeze into that corner just fine. He offers to bring the food over once the gyoza is ready and hands Haruko her cup of tea. * Haruko smiles up. "Thanks." She settles and mentally rehearses her latest scheme briefing while staring off into middle distances. (middle distance) * @Satoshi doesn't have to wait all that long, as the gyoza is ready fairly after a few minutes. He carries the tray of food over to where Haruko is waiting, nimbly balancing it as he places it on the table and then squeezes into the awkward corner. It works! * Haruko chuckles at his artful arrival and snaps apart her chopsticks. "Thanks for indulging me today." * @Satoshi breaks open his own set of chopsticks. "Itadakimasu." He lifts the cover on the bento and scoops up a bit of rice. "You're welcome. It's nice to be able to hang out." * Haruko echoes the itadakimasu and goes for a gyoza off the bat. She holds it in front of her mouth for a moment as she notices the steam. "Yeah..." * @Satoshi eats some rice and salmon and veggies. He was practicing hard. He's hungry! After he finishes, he asks, "So what's been going on lately, aside from your play rehearsal and also figure skating?" * Haruko flashes a quick grin that Satoshi has walked into her conversational trap before managing something more like a poker face. "In normal life, trying to get together a group for a solar car competition. Otherwise, doing some campaigning and trying to think through how to help the Ozoras." * @Satoshi isn't reading Haruko's mind right now, otherwise he might tell her that asking what's been going on maaaaaaaaaaaaaay not really be a trap. He chuckles. "Busy as always. I'm curious about the solar car and what you're thinking about how to help Reiji and Ozora-san." * Haruko hmms for a moment. "Which would you like to hear about first?" She then pops the gyoza in her mouth and her eyes widen slightly. This place either has real good gyoza or she was hungrier than she realized.
