Shimiru-san,

There are those that would spy on you and your allies. Whatever your flaws, we do not believe this is right. We would like to help you, but the more you know about us, the more danger we are in.

We cannot meet in person. We cannot offer you reason to trust us. We can only give you information that may be of use. If you do not wish our assistance, please destroy this letter and the attached envelope. We will respect your choice and not contact you again.

If you would consider our assistance, you may share the attached material but not this letter nor information about us, save that we have chosen to release information to you. Please only share the information with those you trust absolutely, lest this be traced back to us. Burn this letter. If you or your other society members investigate us, we will walk away.

To communicate with us, leave an Ema on a Tuesday at the closest shrine to the best vegetable market in your current city. Mark your wishes with an appropriate vegetable in the upper left corner. Shiny markers have been included to assist in this process.

F.o.H.

The package contains three separate letters on two different paper stocks. The cover letter seen above and the IT letter are on thicker paper stock. The email looks like a photocopy with annotation at the bottom. There are a set of fairly new looking shiny markers that promise the ability to write on anything. Finally, the package contains a single key, small and silver in color. It’s imprinted Global Personnel Services.  It’s a bit unusual in design, rather than jagged teeth it has a circular end with a singular notched segment on the inside about half the radius of the circle. There’s a note tied around it. Perhaps useful, likely more dangerous than it’s worth. Be careful, they play for keeps.

[MC Note: We forgot to mention the note around the key, so are retconning that part.]
