<@Dreol> [London June 14th 1230, 10:00 PM.] <@Dreol> [Rolf has just had Jill Leftherder visit him with an important message about the how the investigation that his life depends on is going: basically, badly. Eliana has informed him that the group is meeting with their respective clans and then meeting up at some farm house to compare notes. Rolf is now left with the decision of what he is going to do! A powerful member of his own clan is located nearby if he were to want to visit him.] <@Dreol> [Begin] 06* Rolf has decided to go with the party, and is therefore fording his way south through wilderness. At the worst, he'll get some new blood to go with his nice outfit. <@Dreol> [South Westish from Rolf's haven, on the other side of the moors by the forest's edge, he finds a cave. The entrance is about the same size as Rolf's and it descends down into darkness from there. There is no light to be seen.] 06* Rolf has more than enough wolf in him to have the sweet glowing red eyes that help him see in the dark, despite his ability to keep his own place lit. He announces himself, saying, loudly and lowly, "Caerel, it's Rolf. You down there?" <@Dreol> [From far into the darkness comes a low growl followed by an "Aye... come down here, lad."] 06* Rolf stalks down, sniffing slightly as he does, and crouching so he can fit. Caves just aren't built for men of their stature. <@Dreol> [Further into the cave, is a larger room that seems to be dug out, and crouched in one corner is a mountain of a man. His long untamed brown hair falls about half-way down his back and through his leather armor can be seen a course fur along his arms and back. A scottish claymore is strapped to his back, but his most noticeable feature is definitely the large boar-like tusks that protrude from his mouth. His eyes glow with the sign of using a discipline to see in the dark. "I keep the cave dark to keep others away." More of an explanation than an apology. "What do you need, lad?"] 06* Rolf replies, "You hear I got accused of murdering some fool courier or... someone?" <@Dreol> [Caerel narrows his eyes and growls. "Yeah, I heard. And I swear this is just more low clan oppression. We ought to bring war to those political types. See how they can handle themselves in single combat. That's how we would settle things back home." He growls again, takes the claymore off his back and grips it tightly before sheathing it again. "Anyway... what is it I can do, lad?"] 06* Rolf nods and growls a touch in return, before saying, "We are a few low clanners. Guess they like playin' their games. I'm just lookin' to see if you sniffed anything out or heard anything 'bout this guy, or who was playin' their games." <@Dreol> [Caerel shrugs. "He's from the court of love. Was some talk of an alliance with the Mithras. He was here to set it up, I guess. Typical 'high- clan' nonsense... alliances and agreements and all that."] 06* Rolf frowns, then says, "Came around to us and said it was important we meet him. If he ain't from 'round here, wonder if it was him at all, or some ...trick." <@Dreol> [Caerel shakes his head. "It is true that you lads were in some danger, from what I hear. Some of those high and mighties didn't like the idea of a bunch of fledglings with such powerful blood. All of you showed up pretty soon after each other. I think the high-clans are nervous that so many powerful, untrained low-clans are appearing. Mithras' speech made that pretty clear, didn't it? With all that talk about proving yourselves or staying out of trouble? I think he's afraid of a revolt."] 06* Rolf nods a little and says, "Yeah... that makes sense. And some high clan bein' afraid to just deal with us directly." <@Dreol> [Caerel nods. "That's what I think. It doesn't hurt that a lot of those high-clan Kindred are scared of this alliance. A lot of them do not want Mithras to have more power, and don't want the Toreador coming around to gain power here in London either. I would say, there is a good chance that this was the work of some high-clanners who saw an opportunity to accomplish two goals. Especially if this Renier lad was trying to warn you about their plot."] 06* Rolf frowns, then replies, "That means that they could still be trying to do somethin' to us from the shadows... while we're distracted." And makin' sure to cover up their crime too. <@Dreol> [Caerel nods. "They could, yes. Watch your back. Better still... keep it to a wall. Especially with that assassin with you. Never know who's paying him. Or who is being paid to kill him. They attract enemies pretty quickly, those sneaky types."] 06* Rolf growls slightly and says, "Bein' mixed up with him ain't ideal. Eliana is a good woman, for, uh, us... don't really know the rest of 'em." <@Dreol> [Caerel grunts and leans against a wall. "Well, you will know soon enough, I suspect. Just be cautious. Is there anything else I can do for you, lad?"] 06* Rolf shakes his head and says, "No... no, you already make more sense than anything I knew already." He chuckles lowly and finishes, "I, uh, just don't think about killing guys that ain't no threat, you know?" <@Dreol> [Caerel nods and growls. "I know you didn't kill him, it's just a matter of convincing those high-and-mighties. I have faith in you, lad."] 06* Rolf nods and growls back, "Good to hear it. At least there're some honest vampires 'round." He grins a bit. "Takin' care of problems the honorable way." <@Dreol> [Caerel nods. "If you'll excuse me, lad... I have to have breakfast yet." He starts to head towards the cave entrance.] 06* Rolf nods and walks out before him, since it is his place, but there's no more need for words. <@Dreol> [Caerel nods and grunts to Rolf and then he heads off east to look for food.] 06* Rolf heads off back north, to, uh, go north! Yeah! <@Dreol> [Mini End]
