<@Dreol> [London, February 5th 1262, 11:30 PM] <@Dreol> [As requested, Moriel finds himself back in the warehouse with the same three Malkavian as last time. Hann, the dejected, pessimistic Vampire version of Eeyore, and Gwendolin and Godwin the twins who seem to have some kind of telepathic link since they tend to finish each other's sentences. Hann is sitting on the floor, leaning against one of the large barrels in the warehouse and Gwendolin and Godwin are both seated on crates. There are a couple more crates and also some barrels and the like for Moriel to sit on if he wishes. Hann looks up as Moriel enters and nods. "Have you any news to report?" He sighs.] <@Dreol> [Begin.] 06* Moriel sits lightly on one of the barrels, since everyone else is seated. He considers a moment, then: "Kali's Fang, the weapon that nearly killed Moloch, has been located. It's in the hands of a Tzimisce by the name of Lambach Ruthven. Research has uncovered a fair bit of information about its creator, but little about its current owner." 06* Moriel laces his fingers together and rests them on his black-clad knee. "In addition, I consulted a Tremere acquaintance of mine who's something of an expert on rituals. She says that there are a few rituals used to permanently control powerful creatures like the garou." <@Dreol> [Hann nods and Godwin rubs his chin, "Hm... Lambach Ruthven... I believe that our cousin Viktor may know of this individual. He is-"... "A Ventrue in the east. He has some small holdings but he is in the court of a powerful Ventrue. One of Mithras' allies." She then tilts her head in thought. "On the subject of the Lupines... Do you have any idea what-" "Might stop the ritual?" Godwin finishes.] Such rituals usually require some sort of power source for fuel - an artifact, a natural source of magic, regular sacrifices. Disrupting or destroying the power source would end the ritual. <@Dreol> [Hann nods. "Perhaps then we should work towards disrupting this power source quickly... it would mean a quicker reprieve for our brothers in the north." Godwin nods... "There is still this ritual to think about, and now, also, this dagger which we have information on. Moriel, what have you-" Gwendolin interrupts, "Discovered about the Fang's creator?"] 06* Moriel takes a moment to gather what he recalls. "It was created by a man named al-Ashrad. Whether that was his original name, I do not know. He was embraced by the Assamites around the first century, but he created the Fang before his embrace - he was a mage when he was still human." It seems he managed to either retain or re-learn some amount of magecraft after his embrace, although that same Tremere opined that it was likely not as strong as the ability he enjoyed in life. <@Dreol> [Gwendolin nods "Interesting. So he must have intended to-" "kill vampires with it. A perfect choice for an Assamite, I suppose," Godwin finishes.] <@Dreol> [Hann nods and sighs, "So... what do we do now?"] 06* Moriel flicks his fingers in a dismissive little gesture. "As I said before. If we can discover more about the ritual binding the garou, or even disrupt the source powering it, we can relieve the Masquerade's forces in the north and perhaps withdraw some of our clansmen to other tasks. Such as discovering Moloch's doings, or learning more of Lambach Ruthven." <@Dreol> [Hann sighs. Godwin and Gwendolin nod. Godwin speaks fist. "Perhaps, then, we should recommend a concentration of forces to the north to disrupt this power source?"] <@Dreol> [Hann nods. "I believe that is what I would recommend..." He sighs again... "But I suspect that the older and more powerful among us fear the power of this Fang, and even the threat of this ritual and will not care about the kindred lives that would be lost in the north while solutions to those problems are pursued."] 06* Moriel pauses a moment to consider, then nods carefully. <@Dreol> [Hann looks up at Morial and then to the others, "Do we all agree that at court we should push for moving northward to enter the battle, then?"] 06* Moriel looks reluctant, but he nods agreement again. <@Dreol> [Gwendolin tilts her head. "Are you concerned about something, Moriel?"] 06* Moriel sighs silently. "I'm concerned about Moloch. I want to know what he's up to. But the best way to find out is to free our clan from its duties in the north so they *can* investigate him. And this is the best way to accomplish that." He shrugs. <@Dreol> [All three nod and Godwin chimes in. "A valid concern, but you are right... With the Nosferatu split and the Assamites remaining neutral, we are the best spies that the Masquerade has. Perhaps we could even convince Mithras to send our spies to the east to spy on Moloch while we march north."] 06* Moriel tilts his head. "If it would not leave us spread too thin, and hinder accomplishing our goals." <@Dreol> [Hann nods. "We shall mention it, I suppose... For now, I believe we have reached an agreement. We are prepared to meet at court." Godwin and Gwendolin nod.] 06* Moriel nods and rises. "I shall see you there, then. Good evening." He tilts his head in a not-quite-bow of acknowledgment and turns to head out. <@Dreol> [Session End.]
