Appearance and Personality

Thomas lives up to his nickname both in personality and appearance. He is has a thin, ratlike stature that allows him to move in tight alleys as he spies on the streets of London. His face is sallow, with pointed ears and a mouth full of twisted fangs. He has wispy brown hair and bushy black eyebrows. While his hands do not have "real" claws, his fingernails are long, thin and sharp. He usually dresses in a dark, hooded cloak and tight clothing so he can hide easily, even without the use of Obfuscate (which he is quite skilled at).

Thomas is very polite to other Kindred, and he is often one of the first vampires to greet newcomers to the city. He is often willing to help out any way he can, but not for free. He has an extensive information network made up both of other Kindred and his own observations and he will be quick to tell you that dedicating time to spying for someone else is costly and he will only do so in exchange for a favor. Once that favor is done, however, he is more than happy to oblige.

History

Thomas was orphaned at age six and began to steal food in order to survive. He earned the nickname "the Rat" while he was still a child, because he was able to quickly duck into tight alleys and get away with whatever he had stolen, and also was particularly adept at spying on people without them knowing it.

He met Richard de Worde when he was eight years old and from then on, Richard saw the potential in the young boy and helped train him to be an expert spy and thief. Eventually, when Thomas became an adult, Richard allowed Thomas to drink his blood and become a ghoul, elevating Thomas' skills. As Richard worked to aide Mithras in his return to power, Thomas assisted Richard with the sneaky workings of his political plans. Once Mithras did become Prince of London, he allowed Richard to sire Thomas and in 1155, Richard did just that.

From that point on, Thomas has developed a reputation as a go-to guy for information on the individuals and events of London. He is not interested in politics the way that Richard is, so he can devote all of his time and effort to building his network of information.
